Lake Naivasha A freshwater lake in the Great Rift Valley, is a haven for birdwatchers, The lake’s serene waters are also dotted with hippos. Lake Nakuru National Park on the other hand is Famous for its flocks of flamingos that paint the lake’s shores pink, Lake Nakuru also provides sanctuary to both black and white rhinos, making it a prime spot for rhino sightings. The park’s diverse ecosystems support a wide array of wildlife, including tree-climbing lions and Rothschild giraffes.

Itinerary

Day 1

Nairobi to Maasai Mara

Morning:

  • Depart Nairobi, traveling through the scenic Great Rift Valley with a brief stop at a viewpoint to capture panoramic vistas.

Afternoon:

  • Arrive at Maasai Mara National Reserve in time for lunch.

Evening:

  • Embark on your first game drive, seeking out the Big Five and other wildlife species.

Overnight:

  • Stay at a lodge or tented camp within the reserve.

Day 2

Full Day in Maasai Mara

Morning and Afternoon:

  • Enjoy extended game drives exploring different parts of the reserve. Optional visit to a Maasai village to learn about the indigenous culture and traditions.

Overnight:

  • Return to your accommodation for dinner and relaxation.

Day 3

Maasai Mara to Lake Naivasha

Morning:

  • After breakfast, depart for Lake Naivasha, arriving around midday.

Afternoon:

  • Take a boat ride on Lake Naivasha to observe hippos and the abundant birdlife. Visit Crescent Island Game Sanctuary for a guided walking safari among zebras, giraffes, and antelopes.

Overnight:

  • Lodge or camp by the lakeside.

Day 4

Lake Naivasha to Lake Nakuru

Morning:

  • Drive to Lake Nakuru National Park, arriving before noon.

Afternoon:

  • Game drive in the park, focusing on the lake’s shores to see flamingos and exploring the forests and grasslands for rhinos, lions, and other wildlife.

Overnight:

  • Stay at a lodge or camp within or near the park.

 

Day 5

Lake Nakuru

Morning and Afternoon:

  • Enjoy extended game drives exploring different parts of lake Nakuru. 

Overnight:

  • Return to your accommodation for dinner and relaxation.

Lake Nakuru to Nairobi

Day 6

Morning:

  • Optional game drive or visit to Baboon Cliff for a panoramic view of the lake.

Afternoon:

  • Depart for Nairobi, with an expected arrival in the late afternoon.
